  • What Is Shockwave therapy and what does it do for erectile dysfunction?
    Our ViaSure machine treatments, non-invasively deliver consistent acoustic shockwaves that are scientifically proven to increase blood flow into the penis and restore damaged smooth muscle cells to address the underlying causes of vascular related erectile dysfunction (ED)
  • Is there any pain associated with the treatment?
    Most people report no pain, but some experience a slight discomfort or pressure at the treatment site. It is generally well tolerated and no anaesthetic is needed.
  • How many treatments do I need?
    Treatment Protocol • Quick, 15 - 20 minute in office treatments •Consists of 4-6 sessions, weekly. Repeat if necessary after 4 weeks
  • How does shockwave therapy work?
    The Viasure treatments trigger a cellular response activating the body’s natural healing process resulting in: The Formation of new blood vessels to increase blood flow (angiogenesis) and The proliferation of smooth muscle cells, to restore tissue elasticity to help maintain the erection. Before Treatment After Treatment LiSWT(Low intensity Shock Wave Therapy) treatments (energy flux density 0.13 m J/mm2, 3 Hz, membrane pressure 1, 600 shocks per treatment area, 6 treatment areas – dorsal, ventral, right/left lateral shaft, right and left crura) were performed over 6 weeks

  • What can I expect after the treatment?
    After the treatment, you may experience temporary soreness, tenderness or swelling for a few days following the procedure, as the shockwaves stimulate an inflammatory response. But this is the body healing itself naturally. So, it’s important not to take any anti-inflammatory medication after treatment, which may slow down the results. Upon completion of your treatment you can return to most regular activities almost immediately.
  • Are there any side effects of this treatment?
    Shockwave therapy should not be used if there is a circulation or nerve disorder, deep vein thrombosis, infection, bone tumor, or a metabolic bone condition. Shockwave therapy should also not be used if there are any open wounds or tumors or during pregnancy. People using blood-thinning medications or who have severe circulatory disorders may also not be eligible for treatment. Discuss these situations with your therapist.
  • Who should not try Shockwave Therapy
    Those with circulation or nerve disorders; open wounds; pregnant or breastfeeding; deep vein thrombosis; infection; bone tumour or a metabolic bone condition; should not use shockwave therapy. Those using blood-thinning medications may not be eligible for this treatment. As with any new treatment, always consult with your family doctor.
